Lafayette High School 2011-2015

Jackson is a dual-sport athlete at Lafayette High School. He’s a proficient leader on the field and on the court. Excelling at football, he worked to become a top recruit in the state despite being labeled a 2-star. In his season year alone, he recorded 49 receptions, 1018 yards, and 14 touchdowns. There's no disputing Jackson's talent. The 6-foot, 173-pound senior, who has committed to Western Kentucky University, has 4.4 speed, terrific hands and a knack for performing at crunch time.

WKU 2015-2019

In 2020, I finished my Hilltopper career with one of the best receiving seasons in program history, cementing my name in the WKU record books while leading the team with 94 receptions and 1,133 yards. I rallied strong in the second half of the year, with 69 receptions for 870 yards and four touchdowns in the final seven games after tallying only 25 catches for 263 yards and zero touchdowns in the first six contests. My 94 receptions ranked eighth in FBS and second in all-time WKU program history for a single season. With 16 catches at Marshall, he broke the Hilltoppers' 50-year single-game record dating back to 1969, then in the First Responder Bowl against Western Michigan, I broke that mark again with 17 grabs – tying for fifth-most in all-time bowl game history – to earn MVP honors.                WKU Highlight

DC Defenders January-May 2023

For D.C. Defenders wide receiver — and former Lafayette and Western Kentucky standout — Lucky Jackson, the path to professional football was an uncertain one. But one he knew he had to keep pursuing. Not too far removed from graduating college during a pandemic and not playing football for a year and a half, Jackson has reached new highs in the XFL. Jackson ranked fifth in the league in receiving yards with 573 yards on 36 catches and five touchdowns. He was named to the All-XFL Offensive Team and played a large part in the Defenders’ league-best overall 9-1 record.

Minnesota Vikings May-Present

It paid off with the 26-year old Jackson now living out his childhood dream in the NFL. He was signed by the Viking this spring and has been an active participant in training camp this summer. Though the path to this point would have broken most people, Jackson is happy he stuck with it.

After starring at Western Kentucky in college, Jackson did not get selected in the 2020 NFL Draft. He couldn’t even get an invite to a rookie minicamp in the aftermath. He ended up going a few month without any prospects of playing professionally, spending early mornings and late nights in the gym, working on his craft in an effort to latch on as an undrafted free agent.
